850 Sportswagon different then Turbo? 850

My brother just got a 1994 850 Sportwagon, is there any difference between that and the 850 Turbo Wagon? I know the Sportswagon does not the same sporty rims. Thanks.

There is no such thing as a "sportswagon" from Volvo. It's just an added aftermarket emblem, added by a dealer or two somewhere on the east coast.
You might also be looking at aftermarket wheels too.

For the '94 model year, there was either a turbo or non-turbo model 850, no Rs or anything with more power.

Not entirely true. The P1800 was available as a "Sportwagon" (genuine Volvo emblem) back in the 1970's. True thought that the 850 was not.

....BUT what I said about the 850 question was entirely true. The 1800s were before my "official" days with Volvo but I've never seen a sportwagon emblem on an 1800ES either (made 2 years, '71-'73, I believe?).
1800s are almost extinct in my area

Entirely! Love to get my hands on an 1800 though. Fun project car perhaps? Like you say, good luck finding one.

            1800s 850

I had a P1800 in the mid 70s but today the nice ones are selling for more than they're worth to me. For what people want for them, I can think of many other old cars that I'd rather have. 1800s weren't fast or exiting to drive. It amazes me that Irv can drive his that often as they're also not very confortable either IMO.
