I was informed that oil is leaking out of a bearing in my turbo, and told that i need to put a new turbo in my 97 with 70K! Am i being lied to, I really feel like I am!

    There is an oil hose which fails on turbos. I have never heard of a turbo failure that you are describing. Get a second opinion. New turbos are not cheap!

    I would get another opinion or two. I was given a similar faulty diagnosis regarding a leak near the turbo. It was not the turbo on mine but can't say you'll have the same result. It seems like 70K would be a bit early for a leak there.

      sounds like the oil return line. the gasket leaks and needs to be replaced. it will leak oil all over the back of your engine depending on how bad it is.
