Turn Signal Switch Replacement 850 1994

This is new to me. I am new to forums. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an 850 sedan that had the turn signal lever snap off. Looking at the car there are 2 torx screws under the steering column cover. When I remove these screws that cover is loose but I don't understand how to remove it. The top section of the cover seems to snap together but it seems to bind near the steering wheel and I don't want to force it off.

Can someone tell me how I can get the cover off and is it difficult to replace the switch once the cover is removed.

    Turn Signal Switch Replacement 850 1994

    The switch is easy to do. As I recall a simple connector and a couple torx screws.

    The problem is the cover. There are 2 screws deeply recessed. I had to go to Sears and get an 8-inch long torx 15 screwdriver to reach them.
