i checked bay 13 but nothing there on this one. i had the problem with the blade not hitting the windshild so i sorta bent it. on the way home it was workin ok then all of a sudden the drivers side dont move ....while the passenger side was still working properly. the drivers side just lays there and will "bump" every now and then..but wont go back and forth. any ideas?

    Had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. Take a look at the base of the wiper arm where it attaches to the motor by the hood. There is a nut that holds the arm onto the motor which probably loosened up, like mine did. 1st, turn off the wipers so the passenger side is in it's resting position, then align the drivers side so it is in it's proper resting place. Wiggle it down tight then tighten down the nut and you should be good to go.

      Mine does it all the time, last time I added a drop of locktite and it has not loosened up yet. Hopefully slowed down the rate at which it was doing so.

        sorta thoght it was like that....but being a 95 volvo i figured it wouldnt have 1950 jeep type wiper connection....hahahahahahaha

          When you adjusted the wiper arm, I hope you bent it near the base where it attaches to the post. That's where it gets messed up.
          Volvo is better than most American cars where the wipers are just pressure fitted. If it loosens up, us a rubber hammer? I prefer a 13mm wrench.

            i did the "blue locktite" to it today!!!! while i had the whole arm off i took to my vise and sort coaxed it to more horizontal shape. seems to have workd well. when the blade is full right...its cleaning the winshild beneath it.
            i worked auto parts for many years and have seen many different winshiled configurations.....but iam just so dumbstruck with this "tapered, pressure fit" on a car with so much technology in the rest of the car..guess they didnt have time to develope a better wiper setup. this type of tapered arm/pressure fit went out in the late 50's early 60's seriously. jeeps, tractors, trucks that had vacume wipers used this same TA/PF. it was replaces with a lot better workin mechanisum. i know this is gona be a problem for the life of this car....its a short cut that should not been taken.
