What are some reasons why the HVAC lights flash? 850 1996

Hello again. What are some of the reasons the HVAC lights flash? I guess my specific question is Do they flash if the tiny temp sensor fans are clogged / not working? What other reasons would trigger the lights. (I am aware the codes can be read. Just curious.)

There are a number of sensor in the HVAC cicuit, if one of the senors are not working properly the light begin to flash. Some times one of the dampener doors are stuck between positions. The selector switch controling the outside air should be swithed sometimes the problem is there.

To answer your question specifically, the HVAC lamps will flash any time a HVAC fault code has been stored. You have a fault in your HVAC system somewhere.

low refrigerant....usually caused by a leaky evaporator. pray its something else cause it is expensive to fix and is a very common failure on 850's

They won't flash for Low freon.
Usual cause is clogged fan in the sensor drivers side behind grab handle.

Why guess, just read the codes from OBD socket pin 6? You just need to make up a simple circuit with an LED and a push to make switch to do it.

Do a search on this board for details.
