S70 GLT S70 2000

I can buy a 2000 S70GLT silver sedan with 65,000 miles on it, dealer is asking $14,000.
Good Deal? How is that year for the S70 with the low pressure turbo?? Will it be a reliable car? I dive 100 miles per day.
Thanks for the feedback in advance.

Yes, the price is about 1k too hight at the dealer. In NY the certified with warranty will go for about 15.5k-16.5k. But I dont think that that warranty is worth the money since it is applicable to only that dealer (usually). The third party warranty is usually costs 2k and much more transferable. As for reliability, bring your OBDII code reader with you and test it. Check the trip computer for gaz milege, it should be in 20-22 range, if you are in urban area, higher if not. If lower, you might be in for the dreaded Throtle control module repair.
Also, when test driving hit the brakes at different speeds and listen for the ticking/clicking sound, if that is present then you might be in for future ABS module repair. Also check the trim, if it is not in working order it is annoying and costly to repair due to lack of after-market suppliers.

It only takes one catastrophic failure for the Volvo warranty to be worthwhile. It is the only warranty that I would consider buying, cuz it is backed by the MFG, not some warranty company. The Volvo warranty is good at any Volvo dealer in the US, mebbe Canada too.

Given the problems with the electronic throttle module that some of these cars have had, I would buy the warranty.

Is the car certified with a warranty to 100k miles? If not then the price is too high. If it's certified, then price is OK.

Main problem with '99 and newer is the dreaded ETS module failure, dealer only repair to the tune of $1100. Also ABS module failures.

I think the price is way too high for that many miles.

You should be able to get one atleast $1500 cheaper than the dealer.

      they are asking too much.
