Oxygen Sensor cost S70 1998

My GLT's 'check engine' light came on last week. The last time this happened, the dealer said it was a bad oxygen sensor. My service advisor told me that since the car has two of these, and only one was bad, I should wait--especially since the car was running fine and the county in which I live has no emissions inspection.

Now that the light is on again, I'm thinking this might be the problem again. The car runs fine. My questions are: Is this information correct? and, how much is/are the sensor(s) going to cost? I'm planning to sell this car, as it just turned 150K, and new S80 is in the garage:)

I can't believe your "service advisor" suggested you ignore the oxygen sensor, regardless of how the car is running. The sensor is intregal to protecting your catalytic convertor and helping the ECM determine the best fuel/air mixture for both performance and fuel economy. One could argue if it's the sensor that is after the convertor then it isn't as crucial. I would have it replaced.
