Won't start S40-V40 2000

My V40 just had the Vadis software update. At the time they told me the plugs needed to be changed. The dealer also told me I had a code that said I needed a new mass airflow meter. I changed the plugs because it was misfiring, cleaned the connection on the airflow meter and now it just won't start. Lights come on and fuel pump sounds, all lights work, but when I try to turn it over, just silence.

Is it the new software or due to me unplugging the airflow meter?

Any advise to keep me from towing it to dealer would be greatly appreciated.

Found the problem. I smashed a wire under the spark plug cover when putting it back on. Blew the engine fuse which i didn't notice the first time. Someone on VolvoSpy had the same problem. Saved me a tow.

Marc.

hi,
you say it wont even turn over??? so i assume you mean wont crank on the starter motor when you turn the key? if thats the case then its nothing to do with plugs, software or mass meter you need to be looking at immobilizer problems or if the immobilizer light goes out and doesnt flash etc.. then starter connections or even starter relay problems, fuses etc...

if the car cranks over but doesnt fire up then yes you need to go back and check what you have done since it last ran e.g. are the plug coils connected up and are the leads on the right way around, is the mass meter plugged in correctly etc.. if your dealer did an upgrade the car must have run afterwards or they would not have given it back to you so i dont see how the upgrade could be a part of your problem.

steve.
