Losing antifreeze S80

Two questions:

My wife got a warning on her 2001 S80 with 56000 miles this morning. Low antifreeze, turn off engine. The overflow tank IS empty.

1. Since it is Sunday, I cannot get Volvo antifreeze. Can I use Havoline Dex-cool or another orange antifreeze?

2. Where is it going? There is nothing on the garage floor. Where should I look?

We have not had time to take it to the dealer. I have a new concern. The coolant in the tank now is black. There is no evidence of antifreeze in the oil. I'm concerned it could be a head gasket problem, leaking exhaust into the coolant. So far, it has not consumed any more coolant.

Another interesting thing. My wife has called her service consultant at the dealership. He stated that the orange coolant should have been replaced with yellow after two years. I see nothing about that in the service manual. We shall see.

Do NOT use dex cool. It does not agree with Volvo. Top up with water and seek a pressure test.

I filled it back up with 50% Havoline Dex Cool and distilled water. I think the leak is in the overflow tank. It is bubbling just a little bit to the right of the filler cap. Looks like a pin hole. We have the 100,000 mile warranty, so I will let her take it to the dealer and find out for sure.

If it were my car, I would just add water for this time. I prefer to keep the Volvo brand in it. When you get it, just add pure antifreeze to correct the mixture. Let it warm up and pressurize and then look at the hoses. Also check floor mats near center console for heater core leak.
