help..loud 'bang' at A/C startup 850

Hi everyone,

I've noticed that when I start my 850 for the first time in the day, if I switch on the A/C shortly after startup, I get a loud "bang", or more like "thud" that can be felt from the interior. It almost sounds/feels as if something is shifting. The strange thing is that this noise only occurs at first start-up for the day (with A/C on), never whlie the compressor is cycling or when turning off/then turning on A/C after car has been driven. I am stumped. I am also hoping that someone has had a similar experience. A/C cools well (knocks on wood), and I'm not overly concerned as everything seems to be working properly. I am thinking perhaps the compressor is loose on its mounts. Just hoping someone has dealt with such a problem. Thanks!!

I had that happen when I switched on the recirculation feature... big bang and now the a/c works really poorly. Cycles really fast. I'm having it looked at in a couple of weeks.

I had the same problem when I accidently overcharged my A/C. I evacuated and recharged and the problem went away. I hope this helps.

How does one detect an overcharge other than the counting meathod? What are the appropriate pressures and test procedures? If I am overcharged, can I take my receipt to the... err... how do I properly evacuate?
