Fat ignition keys!! Does anyone else object to the fat rubber coated keys? I do.. S70

I know these are designed for theft prevention, but they are so awkward in my pocket. What if I owned 2 or 3 cars (I don't)with these keys. Is there anyway around this nuisance? Maybe I could remove the rubber cover and chip from the key and glue it to the steering column. TIA.

I personally dislike them, particulary when combined with a remote door lock/alarm fob. How am I supposed to fit anything else in my pockets? :)

Yes, you can indeed cut the rubber off. That's how I keep a spare in my wallet for those senior moments.

Wait till you wind up carrying the fat key in the same pocket with another keyring for a while--starts looking like the dog had it for breakfast. If you're in an area like mine, where no one knows what a Volvo is and nobody would think about stealing one, you could indeed paste the chip in the steering column.
