TAILGATE WONT LOCK 850 1994

Anyone have this problem? Doors lock fine either using key or fob, trunk wont lock. Can hear an electrical noise by tailgate that sounds like its locking. Tried playing with the U shaped hook on tailgate as well as handle. THANKS!!

    There's a good chance that the actuator(plastic plunger) in the lock has worn out. This happened to me a couple of years ago, and although I took the lock all apart, I was never able to get the thing to work. Ended up getting an entire lock from the dealer(?$160 as I recall) as they don't sell any of the lock parts individually. As always, check on-line first for parts before going to a regular dealer.     I had to take mine out this winter, ice got in there and jammed it up.
    i just took it out, lubed it and put it back.

    Hate to say this, but you are going to have to remove enough of the panel to get to the motor and linkage. Something came loose, it will be obvious as soon as you see it. While there, tighten the wiper motor bolts.
