Accessory belt change help S80 1999

Require information on changing Accessory belt. Is access via RH wheel well or via removal of undertray?

Accessory belt change help S80 1999

    hi,
no its from above, under bonnet. take my advice and dont do this yourself its tricky and access is hard, also the tensioner is tricky to release. save yourself the stress and pay someone to do it.

    steve.

p.s. dont take this the wrong way but the fact that you had to ask how to get at the belt means you probably wouldnt be able to change it.

      Bull.

Probably the reason he asked is "you can't replace the serpentine from the top" It's not that difficult. Access is through the Right Front wheel. Remove the wheel and the cover behind the wheel (clips and screws) The reason you go through the right wheel area..The Crank pulley will need to come off to remove the belt because of clearance to the frame (great design Volvo) First you remove the tension from the belt(leverage and rotate the tensioner)and remove the belt off the top pulley. But you only asked where to access it.

hmmm, if you can change the serpentine belt without going at it from under the bonnet then you need both a medal, and a job in volvo's design team.
i aggree that it helps to remove the wheel and splash guard to get at the crank pulley, but you dont HAVE to.once the cambelt cover is removed from the top then all the work can be done without removing the wheel etc..
but i also stick to my point that is if you cant figure out how to do it yourself then its probably not a job you should tackle.

        steve.
