Anyone have a line on a good deal for third row seats?

You might try ebay. Sometimes even new ones show up there.

Rusty is who I bought mine from about a year ago.
He said he initially bought 2 of each of the 3 colors available. I can't imagine him having many more left.

Additionally, you might try www.vlvworld.com. They have good prices, but keep in mind that they are Canadian based. You might have to pay the duty on items over $250 (I think that's where the duty starts.)

In my mind, there is no such thing. The seat is only big enough for children. Do you really want to put a child in a crumple zone?

Actually, there are pictures out there on the net showing V70s after a rear-ender. As designed, the cargo area maintained its general shape, and the crumpling actually occurs right at the C pillars. If the cargo area was a crumple zone, the feds wouldn't allow the child's 3rd row seat for sale in the US.

If it is a crumple zone they wouldn't put the gas tank there. Can you say Crown Victoria?

Ehh, based on that logic you shouldn't put luggage back there either, as it will interfere with the energy distribution in an accident and send the luggage into the passenger compartment as projectiles.

There's a gas tank under there too.

If I needed full-time 7 passenger capability, I would get a minivan, but for the occasional need, it's better than letting the kids sit on the floor or ride in the cargo comparment with no seat or belt, or any of the other potentially hazardous things that people do in a pinch.

What color, year, do you need it for?
