The alarm has started randomly going off which is really annoying and drains the battery. When I put the key in the door and unlock it the alarm goes off. My question is if I remove the alarm box under the drivers side dash, what do I need to do to keep the car where it can start (splicing things together, etc?). I don't have the money for another alarm box, so if I can splice some things together to keep the immobilizer from working thats ideal. Thanks!

I called the dealership and ordered the starter bridge relay, $11.46...this should take care of this.

That depends on the version of the Volvo alarm that you have in your car. Most likely, you have the basic version of the Volvo alarm. If that is the case, then you have to buy a bridge relay to replace the alarm relay (controller) under the driver side dash. The bridge is nothing but a jumper wire to enable the starter (connection of 12V and starter).

You can jump the 2 pins with a wire instead of buying the bridge relay from dealer. However, I don't know which pins are they.

the brain in my 96 854t5 is marked '210 211', and has a green push in connector on the back.

If u unplug that relay and take a look at the pins, u need 2 bridge pin 50E & 50F.
