S70 T5 Rotor replacement S70

I need new pads and rotors on the front of my Volvo. I'm considering cross-drilled rotors, but I'm not sure what size rotor I need for the T5. I would appreciate any feedback from the forum, either on my proposed change to cross-drilled rotors or on the pads to use. I'm sick and tired of all the brake dust generated by the stock pads. I've read that some of the replacement pads that don't generate quite as much dust also don't perform as well as the stock pads. Thanks in advance!

    I have Zimmerman cross drilled with Metal Master pads, no noise once they were bedded in, no dust either. Gawd do they stop fast.

    I put cross-drilled Zimmermans with Mintex pads on my 850 Turbo. Now have about 10% of the dust I had with stock setup. No noise except for a slight hum when braking hard. I plan to try the Mintex on my S70.

    I've tried the so-called dust-free, high-performance pads and rotors twice, but I end up coming back to the OEM pad/rotor combinations. I find it more tolerable to live with the brake dust than the constant squealing. It's all a matter of priorities I suppose...



    1996 Volvo 850 Turbo, K&N Filter, Bilsteins, Mobil-1(always), and 180,000 miles!!!

    rotors come in two sizes: 280mm for 15" wheels and 300mm for 16" or 17" wheels.

    I presume the T5 has 17" wheels and requires the larger rotor 300mm.
