engine start problem 850

HI, I HAVE A VOLVO 850 TURBO WAGON. TODAY, ENGINE DID NOT START JUST A FEW MINUTES AFTER I TURNED IT OFF. AND I WAITED ABOUT 15 MINUTES, THEN IT STARTED. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TWICE BEFORE, BUT IT WAS RIGHT AFTER I FILLED UP MY GAS. I WAITED ABOUT 15 MINUTES, AND IT DID START. I THINK THAT THE BATTERY IS FINE, SINCE THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH DID NOT SEEM DIM. I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT STARTER, HOWEVER, IT STARTS FINE OTHER TIMES. SOME OF MY FRIENDS TOLD ME IT MIGHT BE FLOODED. CAN Y'ALL THINK WHAT MAY BE CAUSING IT? THANK YOU

    engine start problem 850

Does it seem to try to start...or is there no cranking noise whatsoever? If it doesn't even try, I'd be opting for starter, but I did have a customer tow their car in all the way from Panana City after replacing the battery and the starter at a shop there...for the very same problem. It started fine for me several times, I just couldn't duplicate the problem, and finally, it did it, and an arrow blipped onto the dash for just a second. I grumbled at it, put it in neutral, and it started right up...aha...pnp switch.

Try "searching" the archives for '850 flooding'. It could be the ECU going, the fuel control module, and injector. Check for any codes. BTW, sniff the oil under the oil filler cap to determine the presence of gasoline - if positive, get the oil changed ASAP.
