AC?Heater Fan not working 850 1997

I have been reading the posts and was certain it was a resistor pack problem, but replacing that did not fix it. I replaced the fan motor and engine thermostat about 3 months ago and everything worked fine until about a week ago when the ECC failed to bring on the fan. The A/C was blowing cold (running with forced air at highway speeds), but no fan. I had some intermittent fan operation in the manual mode over the next few days.

I replaced the resistor pack today and the fan still does not work. Checked all connections and fuses. They are OK. Is the switch the next place to look? Other suggestions before I give up and go to Volvo?

Thanks in advance. This site always has great advice and counsel.

Are the lights flashing on the controller, indicating a code in the system? Can you turn the key back just a hair and get the fan to work? Do you not have high? Do you have a bag in the blower motor? See if you have power to the blower motor...this way you'll know if it is a sensor not allowing the controller to (or the controller itself not allowing itself to) send a signal. You have soooo many sensors that play into this system. If you have power to the fan, and it doesn't work, well then you need a blower motor. If you don't have power you get to back track, and without the benefit of knowing the codes, it will be hard.

Thanks so much for the ideas. Unfortunately, I took the car to Volvo on Monday where they replaced the blower motor and resistor pack. The end result is that it does run correctly now...$500 later. And it is now under their warranty.

I should also note that FCP Groton and Eeuroparts have both stood behind their parts (resistor pack and blower respectively)and are refunding or replacing components. While replacing components doesn't help me much because Volvo already installed more new parts, the fact is that both companies are supporting the warranty process and have been very easy to work with.
