I have had a problem that if my car sits for a few days and isn't started when you go to start it it wants to spit and chough and if it doesn't start it has to sit there alittle while before it finally does.Any ideas? Has 140,000 miles and has new rotor, cap, plugs,& wires haven't replaced coil yet.

Hi Marcm1, Your coil should be fine, I suspect a leaking injector, or fuel regulator. To check for leaking injector remove fuel rail with the injectors attached and with it out turn on the ignition and check for leaks at the nozzel end. Make sure you take the battery wire of your coil so it won't spark when you turn on ignition.

How big a troublre is it to remove the rail,is it under any pressure that needs to be bleed out and if it is leaking what do I need to do to fix if? Also if not injector who to tell about fuel regulator?
Thanks,
Marc

I had this happen to me after returning home from a vacation. I called a tow truck. The driver got in my and within seconds it was running. Seems there is something called "vapor lock" (some such thing). He recommends: hold the gas all the way to the floor and turn the key until it starts - then let off the gas pedal. I looked in the manual and, surprise, it recommended the same thing.
