A/C condenser fix assistance needed, Intercooler too? 850 1995

Car: '95 850 Turbo.
My condenser took a hit and got punctured. I tried welding the hole to no avail. Can a used condenser be installed? Or are there issues with installing a used "dirty" condenser. I'm told that you have to change the dryer any time the system is opened so that moisture doesn't cause a problem. I thought the evac process removed the air and moisture is that not true?

Any tips in this matter would be appreciated.

2nd question. IF I'm replacing the condenser would it be easy to install a better intercooler at the same time? Anyone have tips on what performance IC to use and costs?

Thanks,
Michael S.

Don't know of any "better" intercoolers. As far as the condensor goes, as long as the used one holds a vacuum, a good AC flush takes care of any residual ick, and yes...you should replace the drier if your system has been exposed to the atmosphere for any length of time. It's really only "required" when replacing a compressor for warranty purposes as it also filters out bits and pieces of failing components...but what about your condensor...could a good radiator repair shop repair yours?

My father and I tried patching the hole with aluminium solder but we must not have gotten the entire hole patched so the condenser didn't hold.

The shop that did the evac wants $760 with aftermarket parts to do the repair. I may try and tackle it myself, who know.
