Bulb Failure V70-XC70 2001

I purchased a 2001 XC last month with 37k miles on the factory warranty. Today the right front headlight burned out. Is this a warranty repair, or should I go to NAPA for a replacement?

All 99 and newer Volvos sold in the USA have complete bulb coverage for 4 yrs 50k miles. This includes ALL bulbs.

    Bulb Failure V70-XC70 2004

In Canada, Volvo has recognized the ongoing problem with bulb failures and have extended the warranty on blown bulbs for the 4 year 80,000 km coverage. I did own a 2001 XC and there is a recall on the front headlights, where something is installed to reduce the probability of future failures. Go to the dealer who originally serviced the car and ask about the bulb replacement warranty and if the recall was installed. Unfortunately the invoice went with the car, so I cannot be more exact with the recall description. Good luck.

If you had bought it new, the warranty for that part would have only been for 1yr/12,000 miles. I'd suggest you dig out the warrany that you got with the used car to see if somehow you are lucky.
