Site glass and proper equipent for recharging 850

1) Where is the site glass as my A/C is going on and off too often, so suspect low on freon.

I probably will be doing the recharging twice a year avoiding $1,000 evaporator.

2) Where is the best place to buy the guages for recharging ? I an concerned about overcharging the systems, and want to make sure I do not buy a cheapo guage that can be penny wise dollar foolish.

I know I can get the R134 at Autozone that I read in early thread here. Thanks much.

Unfortunately there is no "Sight Glass" in the 850's A/C system. You have to check it with a pressure gauge. Most people just use the kit that comes with a pressure gauge in it that you can get from any autoparts store. You mentioned AutoZone, thats a good place to look for the kit. Look for the kit that has the gauge already attached in the middle of the hose, so all you have to do is attach the R134a can to it and go. It should cost less than $20. The low pressure attachment point is down by the fan belt on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It has a big plastic hex-cap covering the fitting. You just snap the recharge hose fitting over that fitting. Look for about 30 psi with the A/C compressor running and the A/C in the recirculate mode with the fan on high. Good luck.
