HI Guys,

This one is not for the faint of heart. I'm trying to replace my AC Evaporator (Yep...I know!). Got all the parts and read over and over, but got into 1 small stumbling block. I cannot find a long enough Torx bit to undo the screws at the rear of the steering wheel. Any suggestions where I can find that or what to use. Been to Sears/ HOme Depot and no luck yet.
Suggestions from the pros needed.

Sear also has torx with extra long shaft. Thats where I got mine when replacing turn signal arm.

i foolishly did the same job, anyway i got i think at home depot a standard extended bit holder about 3 inches long i think, the type of receptor that holds a hex phillips bit head that a sheetrock screw drill might use, it will just reach in there.
BTW imessed up some electrical connectors on re assembly did not push in far enough , though i thought i did , found it eventually.
took me about 3-4 days but i worked real slow and replaced the heater core cause it was leaking too

Hey hey Guys!
Thanks a lot...last weekend decided to tackle the beast and put up a fierce battle this time and eventually got my break. First there are differnt torx sizes 25 for most and 15 beneath steering shroud. It is dark and one must probe the fit. After removing these, It was easier to access the rear of the steering wheel(also discovered the steering wheel is telescopic too!) Anyway the T-tool from Home depot (Chuck brand) miraculously opened when I used Torx 27!(I know) I was so happy--its taken me months to do this- I suggest the volvo interior engineers be rounded up and shot and used as an example of how/why not to design complicated (not sophisticated) interiors. I also used the counter-clockwise motion which was opposite to what I was doing before as its not intuitive when facing you.
Wwell, now I will take pics for the rest to see. I need to remove the cables, climate control unit and replace the evap...visions of cold air keep me through the job. OK..I've said a lot so let me end here....Thanks a million again guys. Those who claim stuff is too hard just want you to spend your $$$ on some mechanic.
