Rear Power Window Problem 850 1994

The rear passenger side window will not roll up using the main switches located in the center console near the emergency brake. It will roll down using the switch, and it will roll up using the switch located at the passenger rear window. I am guessing that the contact is bad/corroded/dirty...any suggestions??? I understand that you have to remove the center console to get to the switch...but I wanted to know if anything can be done short of replacing the whole switch assembly (was quoted at $274 today) before taking the console apart. Thanks in advance.

Rear Power Window Problem 850 1994

Go by any autoparts store and pickup some CRC electrical contact spray cleaner and spray the switch out with it. That should clean it out. These switches are notorious for soaking up sodas and coffee from the console area. The residue from that stuff kills them in short order.

If the cleaner doesn't work, there are a couple of switch assembly's on eBay. Go to eBay Motors and search for "850 window switch".
