Could I get someone's personal experience on the Harbor Freight Code Reader please ? I purchased one a couple of months back at the recommendation of several posts on this board, however, I can't get it to flash me a code. I've used it on a Toyota with a CEL and a numeric code pops right up. When I attach it to my Volvo though, I just get a series of flashing dashes but no numbers. I'm trying to figure out if those dashes mean something (such as the flashing light on the '93-'95 850's with the onboard diagnostic system). If you have this unit and can use it, will you please give me some insight on this thing.

I have one, and it gives (gave) me a code. Then reset it and haven't had the code back as yet. I'm happy with mine...

Is it possible also to reset the service light with the harbor freight code

No. The code reader is a generic unit, and the service light on the Volvo is not part of the OBD II specification.

The dashes mean there are no codes stored. It's explained on the first page of the manual.
