Where is the Speed Sensor 94 850 A1 2-3-2 850 1994

I am getting the A1 2-3-2 code, and I understand that a dirty speed sensor may be to blame. My speedo either goes dead or erratic, and the car shifts wildy, in and out of gear and sometimes it just goes in nuetral for a few seconds while driving, and then engages again, but still erratic. Does anyone have an idea where detailed instructions are to check and clean that sensor? Also, if any one has some advice to offer as to what this might mean I would appreciate your input. I just bought this 850 non-turbo with 212kmi and I have no knowledge yet about these cars. I drove it home 300+ trouble free miles and then..... I got the 2-2-2(s2 solenoid ?) along with the 2-3-2 code, but after reading and clearing those codes and 1 trouble free day of flawless driving the 2-3-2 is back with the mentioned problems. Thanks for your help!

p.s. also getting the A3 3-1-2 code ABS, does that mean the ABS unit needs replacing?

A1 2-3-2 is "speedometer signal missing"
A3 3-1-2 is "rt. rear wheel sensor signal missing"

speedo sensor is in the trans. above the rt. drive shaft but could also be the speedo itself. clean all applicable connectors and reset the code before replacement though.

as far as ABS this code is usually precurser to contro unit replacement before you do that however I would clean the rear ABS sensors, completely flush the brake fluid, erase the code and see if it comes back.... if it does then change the ABS control unit. There are two variations for this year model one with TRACS and one with out ....be sure and get the correct one!

good luck ...
