2000 V70r Flashing Check Engine Light V70-XC70

Girlfriend has had a V70r for about a month now. 65k miles. In the past couple of weeks there has started to be what sounds like an occasional miss at full throttle and it has taken 20-30 seconds of cranking to start. I just replaced the spark plugs and ran a can of sea foam and it didnt help. Today she came home and said the check engine was flashing and the car was barely running with no power and no acceleration -- sounds like it was in limp mode. I tried to run a scan tool on it and the scan started, flashed the display on the tool, and then locked the tool up at a blank screen. I had to take the batteries out to reset it. The tool is an AutoXray EZLink that is on loan from Checker Auto Parts.

Anyone have any idea what I can try next?

Thanks,

Rob

Rob, maybe it isn't only the #2 cylinder. Check the fuel pressure at the Shrader fitting on the fuel rail if you can. Might want to take a look at the fuel filter, and maybe the pump. The pumps usually last way longer, though.

Good luck, Mark

*update* 2000 V70r Flashing Check Engine Light V70-XC70

Ok... got the scan tool to work and it threw a code P0302 - Cylinder 2 misfiring. I've already changed plugs and this sounds like a stuck/bad injector. Anyone know of a source for injectors? Would you start somewhere else? Anything else have a tendency to go bad at 65k?

Thanks,

Rob

Rob......before ya go nuts..... V70-XC70

How did the #2 cylinder plug look? If its clean as a whistle then there is probably no gas from the injector. I wouldn't know how to electrically check an injector! BUT if your down to practically no power.....then thats far more serious! May be "trip to da dealer" time!
