Injectors cleaning. S70

Hi everyone,

Aside from Amsoil PI, can anyone tell me what product I should use to clean and also lubricate the injectors on my S-70 1998. I'd like to be able to use a safe product that can be added to the gas tank instead of hooking up to the injection system directly. Any suggestions?

Mike

Techron has a very strong following in lots of knowledgeable circles. It comes in both concentrated and not-concentrated versions, with not much differentiation on the cans, so be careful. One large can (for 20 gallon tank) of the concentrate will do good things to clean and keep clean. My mechanic also uses it as part of his standard 30k service.

I too have had good results from Techron in both my old 87 764T and the current 96 854T5.

I was having some problems with rough idling immeadiatly after starting the engine. Used a product by STP (I think it was called Fuel System Cleaner) and the problem went away after one tank full of gas was consumed. I was very skeptical about using an injector cleaner, but thought I'd give it a try before I took the car in for a more expensive service. I think the product cost me $5.00 at Autozone.

BG-44k available at most autoparts stores. $20 a can, but from what I have been told, the reason it is expensive is because the stuff really works. Use it only once a year.

but like the poster said, you should be able to find it at any number of parts stores (Pep boys, autozone, R&S, etc.)

Unfortunately, PepBoys, Autozone, Lappens don't have it. It could be due to the price of this product. I had to get it online.

Not necessary available at most autoparts stores, at least not in Mass. I couldn't find this product anywhere in Mass. I had to buy via the online store in other states.

I tried it last year and didn't feel any different between this product and Chervon/Techron product.
