Spark plug change 850 1993

I'm bringing in my '93 850 for service next Monday morning for an oil change, transmission fluid flush/change, and perhaps spark plugs as well. After 11 years this car still has the original spark plugs in the motor. However, nowhere in the owner's manual or maintenance booklet does it say anything about changing spark plugs at an interval (my car has 103k miles). Do you think it is wise to have new plugs put in at this time?

If your spark plugs are original -- wow! Don't change them yourself, they could be "frozen" by now. It would be easy to snap off a plug and create a mess.

Yeah I agree with "Jack", it wouldnt hurt anything to replace your distributor cap and plugs, you may not necessarily need to change your wires though. A major tune up in that department could run you up to 500.00(in CA.) I'd reccomend buying the Haynes book of repair on the 93 850 and do it yourself. You will save a butt load of money and if you follow the steps and use the right tools you'll find that its fairly easy and can be done in an afternoon.

Abolutely change the plugs!!! And the distributer cap. And the rotor. And probably the plug/coil wires. IPD has a plug, cap rotor kit and wires. You will very much appreciate the difference! And then, change plugs every 30K, cap and rotor every other plug change. Do this yourself, it is easy and much cheaper!
