Volvo uses the multi-electrode design in its factory spark plug (2000 V70). But the owners manual recommends the standard Bosch plug. What's the advantage or reason for the multi-electrode? Changing plugs soon at 60K service.

    Fcpgroton.com sells the volvo plug kit for 12 or so bucks. The plugs look really nice and next tuneup I plan on getting that kit for our 96 855.

    Long life. Recommended change interval is three times longer with tri-electrode.
    Dont know if I think they are such a good idea however. Three years in an aluminium block, can make the plugs stick. I use vanilla plugs and change them usually when I change the oil.
