Can anyone tell me where the ETM module is located on my 99 v70 xc?

I have an intermittent ets light coming on and I want to first check the connector before I face the $1000 replacement! Also, is there an after market ETM that doesn't require the software download?

Unfortunately, if the dealer only Vadis fault codes state "ETM internal fault" (most likely), it's quite obvious and it's never a bad connection or a matter of cleaning the ETM which is just a waste of time.

Dealer only software via Vadis is always required with all new replacement ETMs or the car will not run.

The ETM is bolted to the underside of the intake manifold. It has a large plastiic air tube conected between it and the intercooler. The conector for the ETM is down by the starter motor.
