Volvo S80 Wont Start Help. S80

A mechanic gave me some infromation. He said to take some starting fluid in spray in the intake. The car started running until the fluid ran out. So i guess the problem is that the gasoline dosent run through. Have any ideas what might be wron g? Thanks

Volvo S80 Wont Start Help. S80

I had a similair problem not so long ago...all I did was to check the battery and found it had a dead cell...so after replacing the car started straight away...so maybe just check the simple things first!

Volvo S80 Wont Start Help. S80

Hi,
I have a 99 S80 T6. At about 65k miles, just after a transmission fix the car did not want to start. It would click & the tach would jump sometimes after 5-8 tries it would start, sometimes not. After 3 weeeks it was finally figured out, by the transmission shop, the dealer gave up. I was about ready to tow it to a junkyard. I turns out as the car got older the electrical field in the cable expanded. The battery cable sits just over the speed sensor. The electrical field interferred with it & told the engine that the tach was turning while it was not. The transmission shop rerouted the electrical cable, with a longer one, around the outside of the motor, instead of across it & it has started reliably these last few months. Good Luck, Sandy
