Service Interval Reset Tool 850 1996

Other than IPD and FCPGroton, where else can I purchase a service interval reset tool? I've noted two brands: Assenmacher and Draper. I guess I can just ignore the light if the tool costs too much. The local Volvo dealer and Indie shops are both asking money to reset it for me. Thanks.

There should be a routine for shutting the light off - without buying an expensive tool or going to a shop. Check the achives. I got mine by just calling Volvo and asking how to do it.

I just stuck a burned out bulb in that spot when I has the cluster out to change burned out bulbs. I don't need no dang light to tell me when to change the oil........well, it would be okay if the owner could reset, but since we can't, I don't want the light!!

Yea, $150.+ is pretty steep for a tool that only turns a stupid light out. I haven't seen any besides the two you mention either. I think I'd get a roll of electricians tape from Home Depot for 50 cents and tape over it or pull the cluster and remove the bulb if it bothered me which it doesn't. FWIW, Alex Peper's OBD II Carcode software has in the write up that it will reset service lights on 96-97 850's. I bought this in lieu of a "code reader" and have had good results with it ( as in it has paid for itself already) but haven't tried to reset a service light yet.
