Oil leak on 1995 850T 850

Oil leaking from drivers side from the front radiator area. Checked hoses, seemed ok. Blow-by spitting out oil from the oil cap filler area last time it was driven. Car has 150k. Any thoughts.

It is quite common for some oil to blow out of the weep hole in the bottom of the intercooler on the US driver's side. It collects in the cover under the intercooler. There is an old TSB which puts a nipple in the hole, hoping to trap the oil until you are on the road, where it blows out, thereby keeping garage floors cleaner. The original purpose of the hole is to drain condensing water out of the intercooler.

You need to check the postings on the flame suppressor or arrestor. It's a device that is in the vacum line and does not usually get cleaned when serviced. It will stop up and allow the back pressure to blow the oil out. If you don't clean it then you can expect the front and or rear seal to blow out and have a major item on your hand.

I agree, no flame trap on Turbo models. Turbo models instead have an oil trap. Its a black plastic box bolted on to the engine block and its located right behind the intake manifold. If its gunked up then it will cause the same problems as a gunked up flame trap.
