GAS CAP WAS OFF, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, IS THERE ANY WAY OF RE SETTING THE LIGHT WITHOUT GOING TO THE DEALER OR SPENDING MONEY ON A RE SET TOOL.

Once you get the gas cap tight the engine must recycle thru something like 3 cold cycles and the light will automatically reset. A couple of days or so usually does it.

Disconnect the ECU fuse for 30 sec. Then drive the car to "re-program" the ECU.
