Retrofit Latch System for 2000 V40 S40-V40

After struggling with installing a car seat in my 2000 V40, that is one year before they added the latch system, I wonder if the 2001 rear seat fits in a 2000 model? My thought is to find a junked 2001 and transfer the seat. Any ideas if this will work?

    The seat may fit but it will not give you what you want. The ancor points are welded to the body and extend between the seat bottom and back. I do not personally know of any easy retrofit other than some custom welding. Take a look at a new car and see it that is within reason.
