850 Barely Runs 850 1994

I don't know if this will help, but here goes. My 850 idles fine, but as soon as I throw it into gear it barely runs. Like, it'll lurch and then when it gets going a little the gas will kick in, but only temporarily. The thing will start only sometimes and last night I drove across town, let it sit for an hour, and drove back. The problem wasn't as bad as it is now. Today it wouldn't start. I read earlier about clamping the IAC valve, so I did, and miraculously it worked. I had to loosen the clamp to give the motor a little air, and then I tried driving with it on half way. After experiencing this problem in its utmost severity, I took the clamp off all the way and there weren't any driving changes. So I turned around to go home and just before I got there, the car died. It started right up again and I parked it. I don't know what to do. And does anyone know where to get minilift ramps for cheap?

Have you checked the codes in your engine bay. The codes can be read through a diagnostic unit next to the washer reservoir. There are two little black boxes with covers. Pull the cover off the left one and plug in the test wire that is attached to the cover. Plug the test wire into the number 2 hole to read Fuel, or the number 6 hole to read ignition. Once plugged in, turn key to on position. Push the button and a red light will come on. Hold for 1 second and watch the light. the codes are the number of times the light flashes. For example, the light may flash once, then stop, then flash twice, then stop, then three times. That would be a 1-2-3 code. continue to press the button until code start duplicating themselves. Post the codes on this site and someone will help you diagnos your problem.
