Valve in pcv system 850 1994

Hi
Can anyone tell me the function of the valve? at the end of the pcv system(where it connects to the intake, just before the turbo. It has an elect connection on it...may be a sensor and not a valve. Also, any ideas on how to function test it?

It's a heater circuit, thats where the crank case fumes are recycled into the intake and that connection has the electricial connection, the large hose (from the PCV box) and the smaller hose, a vacuum source to help pull the fumes into the connection.

Thanks! What would it be heating? I would assume that any blowby would already have a fair bit of heat...any idea on testing? I've been told it needs replacing but..just call me an untrusting soul!

FYI: There's NO flame trap (PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve) in the turbo models.

I realize that there is no flame trap in a turbo...however things would certainly get interesting if there was no PCV system(positive crankcase ventilation)...in *any* car. It's got to go somewhere! :)
      Cheers dave

If it's a metal cylinder that's about 3 inches long it's the idle control valve. It opens and closes to regulate your idle RPM. Take it out and clean the insides if you have it out. Can help stabilize the idle if you clean a dirty one.
