I have a speedtuning chip,,,should it not over ride the limiter? Exactly 5000rpm it just sits.

I am going to see what it can do in 4th. I am driving a 1999 S70 T5 5 speed.

I apologize in advance to the grocery getters,,,yes that 130mph and I should max out at 155-160mph.

well can you hear the limiter cutting in? if so then your limited...if not the car just needs sorting...

US cars ARE electronically limited (exact speed unknown to me) but unless you're on a race track, there is no good reason to go that fast and yes, when I was 16 (over 30 yrs ago) I use to do things like that with my parents cars too.
I once had a front engine rail dragster that went faster than that in 8 seconds, scary too.

Exactly where can you drive at that speed safely?

and I'll tell you there are less injuries and far less fatalities at the track.Can not say the same thing for I-95 where soccer moms are doing 55mph driving 5,000 pound tanks yapping on the phone in high heel shows.

Do not get me started about who is safe.

RPM limiter on that engine is above 5k. Our 96 855 and 01 v70 (both non-turbo) limit at about 6-6.2k. Maybe you are just having a "floor mat" issue or something ;)

BTW: You seem a bit childish about this whole situation, it reflects highly in your typing. I have had my 91 240 wagon up to 121 before... nothing special up in those speeds. The fun is in the 50-70mph range on a dirt course flying between trees :-D
