Car smokes after it idles a while S70

My S70 is a 1988 GLT 2.5L with 145K miles. Recently when i leave it running for more than 10-15 minutes it smokes when i press the accelerator. Also the check engine light is on with a Mass Air Flow error code. We changed the gas cap and the Volvo dealer hooked it up to the computer and ran tests but found nothing, so the light came back on a few miles later. Its been really cold here lately and the Air Pump has been squealing. I was wondering if any of these things have anything to do with the other. The dealer charges $62/hr for labor to test, so i figured i would try this first.

Thanks,

A bad mass air flow sensor could be your problem. Try seating and unseating, or connecting and disconnecting the MAF connector 10-15 times to clean up the contacts, and see if the code stays away.

Bay13 would that cause the smoke when it idles also?

I'd have to see the smoke, does it smell fuel rich, if yes then the MAF is part of the fuel mixture.
