ETS repair preliminary results

HI everyone. I just want you to know that i'm working on permanent fix on ETS throttle modules. After testing 36 units i found 32 of them had common internal problem. All of these modules are from Canadian market 99-01 model year.10 of the reconditioned modules are working with no problems for over eight months, and 22 for six months or less. No failure of reconditioned unit has been reported yet. But i need some help from you! If you leave in southern US and have deffective ETS send it to me, i 'll test it and repair it at no charge to you. You pay the shipping charges.I need max. 15 units. After that you keep me posted of any problems with it. Good news is that the reconditioned module does not need programming software re-load. Please take advantage of this offer as after that the repair will cost $350 Canadian dollars. More info Crosscountry Automotive chrisebox2003@yahoo.com . Thanks!

ps I repair ABS modules 96 and up m/y for $125.00 C dollars.

That's terrific, a little too late for me, but I'm glad to see it apparently can be done for everyone else. There certainly is a need for it!! I wish I had mine to send you. But I bet a call to any dealership will get you a couple. They're coming in all the time I'm sure.

What are you doing to permanently fix the ETS problem? What do you think the problem is? What is the common internal problem you have found? If you don't want to put that information out over the internet would you e-mail me at

I would be very interested to know if it looks like a case of a bad batch of components or bad design. If the former Volvo or the supplier of the module could have recourse against the component supplier (think the recent uproar about defective capacitors in Taiwanese motherboards) while if it's bad design the blame rests exclusively on VCC's shoulders.
