I am looking to buy a 2001 XC with only 19,000 miles on it. It is in mint condition. Driven by an older couple and they are asking $22,500.00.
Is there any thing that I should be aware of for this particular Volvo model and year? I already have two C70's and I am very familiar with their quirks.

Assuming the car has most of the options cars come with, it will price out higher than $22.5 on Edmunds.com. I would check the frequency of oil changes (should be every 3k or so), have a dealer pre-purchase inspection done and fill out a check.

Sounds like a good deal.

Are you buying it from the older couple that only drove it 19k miles? Or from a dealer.

I would ask for receipts and verify that frequent maintenance was done. The reason I say frequent is 19k miles on a 3 year old car translates to start and stop driving when nothing gets warmed up.

Since it's AWD, the tires should have been rotated at least 2 times - try to confirm that.

Finally, I would have the car checked out with a pre-purchase inspection.

The older couple are the original owners. They did not get out much other than visiting the grand kids. the Xc was serviced by the dealer.

Did you purchase? I just purchased a 2003xc on ebay for 30k and now my son likes it so much he wants one?
