Just finished a 700 mile highway round trip. Gas Mileage is.... 850 1995

25.6 as displayed on the trip computer.

Car has 98,000 miles, I use 93 octane, 10W30 Dino. Ran like a top, cruise control set at 75mph. Temps were in the high 30s, low 40s.

350 miles there, 5 miles stop and go once there, 350 miles back.

Not too shabby.

Gas Mileage is....Imperial or US gallons 850 1995

Much better than I would expect, is Mr Williamson using Imperial gallons (only suspect as he uses Centigrade).
How does your 745 Turbo compare?
    I get 25 -26 at 75mph I'd guess in the 745 -16v, 357.000 miles though.

The 745t gets around 20-21 in everyday use. Manual trans, 195,000 miles. My normal weekday commute is 30 miles round trip, half 65-70mph, half city.

B5234, turbo, USA spec wagon. 31mpg? What in the world could account for the descrepancy? Your's would be a B5254 and non-turbo? I'm on 195/60X15 tires btw.

There are lots of things that affect mileage. Tires, alignment, grade in road, speed, starts and stops. Emissions on car. Leaks.
Also did you reset your trip computer before making the trip?
If not then its calculating previous driving also such as city driving.

Yes I did reset the average mileage and for my amusement, the average speed.

Sounds like I need to take off my lead boots.

well i checked my mpg and its under 19 so you should be very happy.
I do alot of stop and go driving and the turbo is used alot more than being at a steady highway speed.

I did 33 mpg with 85 octane from Denver to Phoenix and back during the week of July 4th, 3000 miles, on a 97 850-R with 60,000 miles.

Still quite a difference from my results. Your altitude and ambient temps would make for a leaner mixture, no? Denver vs. Louisiana and July vs. February? This is the first time I've travelled with the car without towing my 300 lb. trailer. Mileage in the Ozarks under those conditions was in the 21mpg range in May with 205/50X16 RE730s.

The car had just been aligned btw. I'm not complaining.
