The ABS warning light in my 98 S70 T5 2.0 is coming on and off intermittently. Anyone knows the likely cause?

Very common problem. If you have warranty, the ABS Control Unit will be replaced.

YOU BETTER HOPE IT IS UNDER WARRENTY. It sounds like the module is going bad. They can be fixed, so look at previous questions.

Yes - It was the ABS module, plus the sensor. Unfortunately I live in Singapore and there is only one single dealer for Volvo, meaning I paid through my nose for the replacement!
