My 100,000 mile badge is located where it should be, on the front grille.
I have seen some folks use the sticky tape to attach it but I would never
trust that to stay put thru car washes, snow, sleet and everything else that
    mother nature dishes out.
So I simply drilled a small hole (i.e. .125 dia.) exactly thru the center of
the badge and fastened it with about a 1.5" long brass machine screw to the back side of the grille. Now I also took a small piece of any kind of wood
(.25 thick x 1" wide x 2" long) and made small notches in the wood that match the spaces in the grille. Then drill the same diameter hole thru the wood, and add a washer and nut and voila! You have a solid fastened badge that will never go anywhere and most people can't figure out how to get it off, especially if you put double nuts on the end.

P.S. Don't forget to spray a few coats of clear laquer on the surface of the
badge before mounting and glue a piece of thin rubber on the back to keep
it from sliding against the grille. Have fun!

I have the dealer's badge on one side of the rear license plate on the tailgate and the 100k badge on the other side. Symmetrical and protected, if not the correct place to put a grill badge. Besides, the car stuck in traffic behind me can always admire the badge!

I thought of the same thing when I got my badge for my '82 240, which is in mint condition and a concourse 1st place winner, (it won 1st place in two national meets last year, and another 1st place in a regional meet). First of all, I don't like badges, decals or stickers of any kind on the outside of a car other then the OEM look. IMO, anything else just looks tacky. Having said that, I stuck my high mileage badge on the inside of the engine compartment, located on the timing belt cover. Over the years I have received numerous compliments for the idea. It stays protected and doesn't corrode as they do on the exterior of the car. Most high mileage badges that I have seen are faded, corroded or have the paint peeling off. If you insist on sticking it on the exterior body, why not the area beside the rear license plate?

    Hi there:
I am at 98,000 miles. Where would I inquire about getting a badge? How long did it take to get one? How much was it? Do you "stick" it on with adhesive? Would it attach to the front grill? What does it look like/say on it?

Thanks so much for your time.
