Can anyone recommend a San Francisco Bay/penninsula area mechanic with reasonable rates who really knows Volvos?

    For all the repair work that I can't do or don't want to do myself, I have taken my car to Scandia (http://www.scandia.com) in Sunnyvale; they work on Volvos and Volvos only. Not sure how well their rate compares to other independent shops, but so far I have been very happy with their work.

    Hi Tina:

    I live in San Francisco. Volvo Centrum (or Centrum Volvo) on 16th and Sanchez(415) 863-3266. They are reasonable I think 80.00 - 85.00 per hour labor cost. They advised me of work that needed to be done "eventually". I was up in Seattle and had my old mechanic up there take a look and he verified that they were right on target (a relief). They are a good outfit.
