LCD dash display - clock & temp. 850 1996

I recently changed the battery on my '96 850 wagon (non-turbo) and since then the LCD display for the clock and the outside temperature simply flashes slowly and with no readable numbers. I tried to reset per the manual without any luck. Also, the red warning light which alerts to freezing conditions also flashes slowly as well. Any ideas? My tech. says he's never seen it before.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery again. I had to do this once and it worked.

Thanks to Chuck for the tip about disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, it worked. Valuable tip for future reference.
