Laptop software and ubs wire connector to computer, where to get them? S70

I have access to the snap-on software that runs on the laptop. However, I do not have a connector from the laptop to the volvo computer connector. Does anybody know if I can get one? If so where?

Make sure that the software you have doesnt require a cable with a "dongle".
The dongle is what enables the software so to speak. Some software is restricted
to the one PC you load it on.. other software can be loaded on any PC but you have to use the cable with the dongle in it for the software to work. the dongle
is about the size of a film canistor and is molded into the cable insulation.
For example .. you can download the VAG-COM software here..
http://www.ross-tech.com/index.html
but in order to use it you have to buy the cable from Ross-tech.. this BTW is
a excellent tool for Vee Dubs / Audi
Sooo before you buy a cable you might wanna check this possiblity out.

Most OBD2 cables I've seen are serial interface. but, no big deal cause serial to usb adapters are widely available. Here is a quick "for instance"

http://www.scantool.net/obdii_cable.htm

total investment = ~$40

but i'm sure if you search, you can find them cheaper. i would even go to a local store for a serial/usb adapter just to save shipping costs.
