96 volvo 850 flame trap hoses?

did some rountine checking and found that the small hose connected to the flame trap is rotted and totally shot (larger one seems fine). Where do these hoses go? i can feel them under the manifold but can't reach my hand any further, i didn't see anything on bay 13 (or was i not looking hard enough?). I know there is a code for secondary air injection coming up(told it was air pump) could this hose be the problem? (car runs great but gets poor milage)

Not 100% sure but I'd guess the vacuum hose probably runs to a small nipple on the intake manifold like the "conventional" fore/aft mounted engines. You'll wana replace that as it ='s a vacuum leak.

ok so what am i looking at? taking manifold off just to replace this hose? would this have an adverse effect on my milage?
      thanks
