Brembo Brakes for a 99 V70 V70-XC70

I am looking at installing a set of Brembo brakes on my V70, I have heard of a couple of people with these and would certainly be interested if anyone has had
this done to their V70.

Cheers

I tried to get the Brembo kit that EuroSport tuning in Canada sold, but htey said they quit making it. And fo that other guys, the brakes are ok but fade quick. Can do a lot better. AP makes some too that a lot of people in europe use. And there are two or three other (Red Dot and Tar-Ox) that have lots of versions (four siox and TEN piston calipers, with rotors from 12-14" and fit stock wheels with some). So meaning Europe has all the goos stuff. Tar-Ox is sold in the US somewhere that does NSX parts, but they are expensive. I've got Porsche boxster calipers and am trying to design a kit. They are 4 piston brembos, and pretty cheap. Anyways. thats my 2cents. alltracpete@hotmail.com

Don't mean to poop on your parade, but which V70 model? Regular brakes are pretty good - how fast do you drive and do you really think it's a wise investment?

The first question is what brakes do you have at the moment - 280mm or 302mm? The 280s are widely reckoned to be totally unsuitable for a car of this weight and there is some modest improvement to be had by fitting the 302 rotors, which simply need a bracket (obtainable from your local friendly Volvo dealer!) to relocate the standard caliper. The pads are the same size but of course you can upgrade these at the same time.

This is a very cost effective upgrade but anything else, i.e AP Racing, Brembo, Volvo Performance Brakes, will cost a blizzard of money and really only offer a noticeable improvement when caned really hard when their fade resistance, as a result of larger rotors and pads, pays off!

Hope this helps.
